Realtech HD Audio Manager not working with front jacks

It shows my front jacks. But when I plug in my headset nothing pops up, and I can't manually click the jack. Having to pull out my entire computer every time I want to plug in my headset it really really annoying, which is the whole reason I got jacks on the front of my computer...now they don't work?

Hi Megz,

Welcome to the Forum,

You need to check that the front speakers are connected to the motherboard. There are up two connectors one is for HD (mine is yellow) and the other for AC97. You now need to Enter the Bios and check that Front Panel Audio is selected to the same HD or AC97

I hope this helps

EDIT: I did check (although I wasn't really sure what I was looking for) after I posted (and searched the net some more) and it seemed to me that the lines were connected to the motherboard.

I searched and searched and finally figured this out.

1. Go to Control Panel and set it to Classic View.
2. Click on Sound.
3. Go to the Playback or Recording tab (depending on if you're having trouble with mic or speakers)
4. Click on the Speakers/Microphone icon.
5. Go to the Levels tab.
6. Crank up the volume levels.
7. Go to Realtech HD Audio Manager
8. Click the little folder on the side (Connector Settings)
9. Check the box that says 'Disable Front Jack Detection.

Not sure what that did but it's working now. HOORAY.

Ok maybe it's not totally fixed.
Now I can't make my speakers mute while my headset is plugged in. Easy enough to live with, I just turn my speakers off when I'm using the headphones.

But if anyone knows how to fix that it would be nice. :)
