Vista - Problem with WMP (in Vista) Please help me!!!

Dear Friends,

I have a Sony VAIO laptop on which VISTA is loaded. The problem is
with Windows Media Player. I can't see any thing on it....there is
always BLACK SCREEN with Audio on. I have browsed many forums and also
theVista forum to find the solution but with no success!!

I have downloaded all types of codecs available on internet but no use till now! If anyone knows a Codec which works please send the link......

If any one faced similar problem and found the solution kindly share it!

what type of file are you trying to play?

Why don't u download and use vlc media player. u can play any format, there is no codec problem and advanced user customization.

Thanks for the replies!

I use normally VLC to play al files in my computer.

I use WMP basically for online streaming (and watching online movies) as many sites have intergrated WMP as their default player in blogs and also online TV Channels like CNN IBN and etc...(But i can watch CNN as they use flash player for online TV).

If the website is based on flash player or any other player no problem at all....it is only with WMP that I can hear audio but there is no video on the screen!!

Any suggestions?
