| home premium 32bit | no sound in vista hi recently i was having problems with ventrilo so i reinstalled my audio drivers and made sure they were up to date. After doing this i now have no sound on my computer. under device manager the sound device is listed and is labeled as working, but in the taskbar there is a little speaker with a red "x" on it and when i right click to open volume mixer it says "No audio device is installed" (even though there is one listed in device manager). ive tried both the newest version of the driver and the driver than came already installed on my laptop (driver cd) with no effect. specs: audio device: SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec Laptop: Dell xps m1530 Vista: Home Premium 32bit |
