Headset problems

So I have a Razer Carcharias gaming headset. I love it to bits. It has always worked properly and very well.

Now today for some reason the mic on it has decided to stop working. I've checked my sound levels and my boost option, and they are all turned all the way up.

So my question to you is, what should I do next to get this working again? I run my own ventrilo server, so its kind of dumb to do that if I can't even talk on it lol.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Headset problems

Just from a very basic approach.

If you can get another mike that is known to work, plug it in.
If you still get no sound out the problem is in the computer.
If you do get sound, start checking the headset for
loose connections,broken wires,etc.

you can use an old set of headphones or earphones as a microphone, its essentially a reversed microphone anyways, just plug them in and speak through the left earpiece, see if windows picks it up.

Re: Headset problems

Check your Microsoft sound input options
Control panel > Sound - Recording - Set your microphone to default, Right click on it, advanced - advanced - Untick both the Exclusive mode text boxes.

I had a similiar problem, turned out it was my VIA HD audio control panel >.<.
