| Vista Ultimate 32 bit | Winamp will suddenly stop playing MP3's Gday Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 AMD Dual Core 5200+ 4GB Ram Nvidia GeForce 9500GT Integrated 8-channel AC'97 audio Vista Ultimate Going back to the days when I used to run Win2k, I found the full version of Winamp used randomly crash (i.e. it stopped playing my MP3's), so I installed Winamp V5.08e lite. No more random crashes. Now I have Ultimate I don't like Winmonkeys Media Player, so I have installed the recommended version of Winamp for my 32 bit OS V5.5.4.2147 Nullsoft Winamp 5.54 No action required However the old problem of random crashes is occurring again, after Winamp crashes Winmonkey refuses to play my MP3's as well. The only way around this crash is a reboot of the OS, yes you are right it is no biggy, BUT it is annoying the crap out of me. My drivers are all up to date so why does Vista Keep doing this? And please don't suggest I use Winmonkey, because that's an even bigger annoyance |

| Windows Vista Enterprise x64 SP2 | Re: Winamp will suddenly stop playing MP3's When Winamp crashes, does the program still show in Taskmanager under processes? If so, and just as an experiment, kill the process and see if it, or another program will play the MP3's. Next, try installing the latest codecs from K-Lite. Install the STANDARD, but uncheck the media player as you go through the options. |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Re: Winamp will suddenly stop playing MP3's Yup k-lite offer the best codecs IMO.I got my friend to switch from winamp to aimp2 he loves it and has never had problem with it.I haven't either and I think it has a much better sound quality to it but I dont use the beta I use this version : It also uses a lot less resoucces. Up to you Download AIMP 2.51.330 - FileHippo.com |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Re: Winamp will suddenly stop playing MP3's Ya I like MediaMonkey also for some things but not when I'm gaming.I dunno I went through a period of trying out a bunch of media players I like aimp2 for audio. For video media player classic which comes with k-lite , gom player , or VLC.VLC I think I like the most for video. Audio and Video Downloads - FileHippo.com |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Re: Winamp will suddenly stop playing MP3's In the main window on the lower left click the three vertical bars that turns shuffle on/off.On the bottom right you will see 3 horizontal bars that opens/closes the playlist.Click the button at the bottom right click new playlist.Theres all kinds of little things you can tweak to your liking. The equalizer is very nice and you can get some great sound from it / it is right by the open playlist button. You can choose from a pretty big library of presets and then you can fine tune it to exactly what you like then save it.A new version just came out today.Any more questions feal free to ask Its a little weird to get set up but once you have it the way you want it you will probably stick with it.I've tried a few other audio players since aimp2 and I always switch back. |
