Vista - Vista 64 Audio Problem?

well, I've tried to install the realtek drivers, but nothing happens. I run the setup, it tells me to restart and there's nothing. Device manager still says the same. and No new options under any sound file.

In device manager choose update driver and locate the unzipped drivers in a local search. Then reboot.

and Lemur, when I click on "High Definition Audio Device" this is the info it gives me, did I click on the right thing? I didn't have a tab for sound, only sounds under devices.

It doesn't give me the option to update drivers in the device manager. I can uninstall and then it finds it again, or I can disable. There's no other option for updating drivers. When I search for drivers in the file where i saved realtek, it searches and then says the device is up to date. And when I pick from a list, thats the only one selectable.

What does dxdiag say when you enter that into the start menu, in the sound tab - what date for the driver?

If thats the date the update wasn't installed. You sure you can't right click the entry in device manager and choose update?

Positive. I can't update it that way no matter if I choose search the internet or browse my computer.
