    Sound card help

I just got the Razer Barracuda headset and I wanna get the most sound out of it.

Now on the back the out ports work for all the wires but when I try to plug into the mic one on the back it doesn't. So I`m either suck with a mic that sounds like i`m miles away and great sound, Or i`m with a great mic and decent sound(just front speakers).

It works on the front however but on the front there is only room for a front speaker. Is there a way around this?

This is what it says in the owners manual about the ports

    1 microphone connector
-Use the microphone connector to attach a personal computer microphone for voice or musical input into a sound or telephony program.

Now the only line in connect on the back
    9 Line in connector
-Use the (Blue) line-in connector to attach a record/playback device such as a cassette player,CD player, or VCR.

If I am reading this right, why are you trying to connect a 5.1 headset to the stereo front panel connector? To connect it properly you need to connect it to the front/rear/center ports on the sound card (whether onboard or an actual sound card),

including the USB connection which I assume is to power the built-in amplifier.

Well the thing is I want my Mic to work as well. The in on the back does not work that's why I posted the difference in them. The only one that works for a mic is the front one. I am wondering if there is a way around thing to where I can get the 5.1 sound and the mic to work at the same time. My other option was just to connect the front speakers on the front I/O port and have my mic work.

You made sure that the line in is set properly in the sound card's settings? If all else fails get one of these (find a cheap one locally),

    For only $0.62 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 3.5mm Stereo Plug/Jack M/F Cable - 6ft | 3.5mm Audio M/F Extension Cables

and use it to connect just the mic to the front panel.
