I hope some resident experts can point me in the right direction. I have good powered 2 way bookshelf speakers and am trying to add a small sub for good 2.1 sound in my home office. I cannot get sound out of my sub (it works when plugged into my home theater set up, but not when connected to my PC). I am connecting my sub using a 3.5mm jack to 2 RCA cable. It goes from the single 3.2mm sub out on back of my tower, into the L and R RCA INPUT on my plate amp.
I have Vista, 32bit with:
Realtek High Definition Audio (internal high def audio bus)
Driver date 7/28/2010
Driver version 6.0.1.6167
L R
RL RR
C Sub
SL SR
all 3.5mm jack
can configure as
Stereo
Quadraphonic
5.1 surround
7.1 surround
In Reaktek audio manager, I have selected Stereo, and it sees that I have the sub input plugged in (it highlights it and my left and right speakers). When I hit the test arrow - it tests left and right speakers only - no sub (and no sub is pictured in the test).
What do I need to do to configuration to get the sub working? Thanks in advance for your help.
