FN/volume control stopped working

Purchased acer laptop last year...vista home.
A few days ago, the FN/volume control stopped working.
The FN/brightness works fine.
Any suggestions?
I searched the forum but could not find an answer to this specific problem.

Try pressing Alt+Ctrl+Fn and see whether it works.
You could also try reinstalling Acer Launch manager.

Do you have any other key press failures? As this is indicative of a failed keyboard.
