Sorry that you are having this problem. It appears to be a common problem with no real fix. I have not found a resolution for this and posted this same question the other day. No one has really been able to help.
I'm becoming a pro at troubleshooting my laptop ....
If you go to Start... type system in the search.... look for System information and click on that.
Click on Software Environment, System drivers. Once that opens up..... scroll down til you find the Conexant Driver. The driver is there, but it is stopped. It should probably say Conexant UAA Function Driver ...... and if you scroll across that line.... you'll see where it says 'Stopped" ....
The problem is getting it restarted. If I can ever figure this out and find out why it keeps stopping ... then we'll be in business.
If any of the guru's on here happen to see this..... please give a little insite.
No.... I'm hoping one of the gurus see this thread and can give insight. I've tried everything that I know and can't get anything to work. If I find out from one of my IT friends that seem to be away right now... I'll post the solution.
You can try to go into your Control Panel, switch to Classic View, and open the Device Manager. Then open the Sound folder, clicked on your sound card and make it to DISABLE, then ENABLE. Good luck!
I don't think so. The driver is not on as DCDoll told us, also I can't see my sound driver in my "sound folder", even when I click show hidden devices.
Hi!
I was wondering, If you got a solution for the problem?
Is the same problem with me, I noticed that the Conexant driver stop working and doesnt appear as "avaliable" anymore, I tried to restart it, creating a new "link" with the drivers already got.. It worked, actually, but just for a few days, and then the problem was back again, but now, that doesnt work anymore, my computer crash everytime I try that because the "link" create an error stoping "windows audio" on the local services.
I tried downloading drivers but no one fits. Also tried to create a link with that file you already mentioned, which is "CHDRT64.sys" but apparently files with that format are not allowed as a driver.
So I dont really know what else to do..hope someone could help mePlease

hi Alessaket, can you create a new thread describing your issue and also help us out by filling in your system specs >>>here<<<
Ok!
Thanks for the replay, I will do it!
Sometimes, but not always, you can open Set Up using a hot key, go to sound and make sure it says "Enabled". Sometimes this is true on installing, or reinstalling a new sound card, which might disable the sound in your system. Crazy, but it can happen. PJ
