I noticed there is no Windows Sound event for sleep

There's a sound event for Windows Logon and Logoff, as well as Windows Exit. But I don't see any for sleep (entering or waking). Is it possible to set a sound to trigger on those events? I know it will happen with Open Program, but then such a sound will be triggered for every program opening, which would be seriously annoying.

I did come up with a workaround for entering sleep. I use a wonderful command line utility called "nircmd". It has a "mediaplay" function, where you can play a sound for a set number of seconds. For sleep, I use a batch file and execute two commands, one to play the sound and then one to trigger sleep. But of course, there's nothing to be done for waking with this technique.

I searched around and found a couple of people interested in this, but the topics never end with a viable solution (often just abandoned). Any ideas?
