Vista keeps muting itself out at random times...

Here's a little annoying problem I've been having with my laptop...

It will mute itself out at the most random times.

Like, for example, if you turn the computer on, the sound is on. Then, right when you're about to log on, it mutes itself out. Or, if you were to lock your computer, the sound would stay on, but when you try to unlock it, it'll mute itself again. (Get it?)

I've tried installing audio drivers, but with the audio drivers, NO SOUND plays.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Hi shadowboy1795,

While researching for this issue, found a link which might help in fixing the issue: Volume on Windows Vista keeps auto muting??? - Microsoft Community

Also, perform System Restore (only if Software Configuration Changes were made) providing the link for your reference: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-system-restore-how.html

NOTE: With system restore you will not lose any data from the computer, any new programs installed in the computer has to be reinstalled on the computer.

Please post the results.
