| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update Thanks for the head up about R2.09, Shawn. The first run of the installation program uninstalled the current driver, as expected. I then restarted when prompted. Windows then proceeded to reinstall the basic driver that came with Vista (again, this was expected). However, on running the R2.09 installer again, it kept saying that the driver was already installed, except that I knew that it hadn't. To overcome this, I installed R2.09 directly via the 'Device Manager'. This needed to be carried out with administrative credentials. | Vista Ultimate 64 | Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update Hi, After reading this thread (took about 203467 hours!!) I'm still not 100% on how to fix my problem, as it appears to be a similar problem to all here. I have Vista Ultimate 64bit, with Realtek onboard sound on my mother board. However, my Quadraphonic speakers don't seem to be working as I can only get sound to come out of my front two speakers when in WMP etc. sometimes when I go into control panel, I can get sound coming out of all 4 speakers, but sometimes it doesn't happen. After reading this thread I have done the following: 1) Downloaded and installed the latest driver 2.08 (installed twice, forst time to remove old driver, next time to install new driver). My driver cersion is currently 6.0.1.5730. 2) Since installing the new driver, I have lost the Realtek icon in my control panel. To be honest, I've used up all my, er, knowledge, does anyone have any ideas I can try? Many thanks, Maj |
