I found the link for your Acer audio drivers below. You will just need to select your laptop to see the drivers there. You might try them to see how they will work for you.

Re: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Hmm am downloading it now. Since i baught the lappy right here in m country i used to check for drivers on the acer europe homepage they have a bit diferent layout there and a diferent section for vista sp1, but atm i cant download nything from em neither if i go thru google chrome or ie.

Il install the latest driver from the site you wrote and let you know.
Thank you!

Edit:

Installed the driver... absolutely no changes, just the driver version has changed to 6.0.1.5413

no additional options available...

Re: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Hi all,

I just built up a rig with a gigabyte EX58 and after trying many drivers, it keeps bugging me every 5 seconds when I plug in the headphones and mic on the front panel with the auto pop up dialog.

I went to gigabyte's website and dwl'd their last driver's version, no luck. I moved my two HD from previous machine including my dual Win 7 32/64 boot, other than that, no many suspects!

I already tried R221, R226, original CD with the 'azalia' driver, installed flashget so don't have to wait for ever when dwlding from ggbyte, changed connectors to AC97 but front panel doesn't appear and back to HD audio.

I unchecked the 'enable auto pop up dialog', it doesn't care!

Any ideas? Thanks for reading.

Anyhow,... just letting anyone know in case it helps someone. There are certain laptops that no matter what you install or what updates u get, its just not supposed to get any microphone hear thru loudspeakers.
It all does work on the big comp we have at home!

After months of trying to solve this problem I too thought it must be a limitation with the hardware, but then I installed ubuntu and the mic pass thru works fine on that OS. Hopefully some day I'll find a fix for vista but until then I'll have to use ubuntu for karaoke.

If anyone is wondering I have a acer extensa laptop, dual-boot ubuntu/vista.

Re: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Okay I'm hoping you people can be as helpful for me as you have been for others. I have a Quadraphonic Configuration. When I click TEST, I hear the sound normally out of all 4 speakers. When I'm playing music thru iTunes however, I can't hear anything out the back speakers. I just noticed when I check the "Speaker Fill" box that I can hear stuff out the back, but it definitely is only the voices of the music, and it sounds like they are underwater.

I want to hear the same thing out the front/back when I'm on Pandora or whatever...

Thoughts?

EDIT: I just went to the RealTek website and updated my driver.
EDIT2: I can hear stuff when I uncheck "Speaker Fill" and turn on SOME Sound Effects. This is freakin bizarre. Quarry works, Plain does not, City does not, Generic Does. But it still sounds like they're on the other side of a large room.

music is only 2 channel, i had this problem then it occured to me that most standard sounds are only stereo and not quadrophonic, try playing a 5.1 game and tell us if you hear sound without the speaker fill option enabled.
