Sound Blaster Audigy 2 problems in Vista 64

So i've done a search on the forums and it seems Vista sucks with all creative cards.

I have an Audigy 2 ZS and i can't get the sound to work for the life of me. The latest drivers are from May which seems almost unacceptable. I tried disabling my onboard sound card in the BIOS and in windows cuz i thought there might be conflicts but it didn't do anything.

So then i was thinking of getting a new X-Fi card because i thought it would have to work on Vista 64, and then i came across the other threads complaining about sound issues.

As of right now im using the Realtek onboard sound device...It is HD audio, but i would like my sound blaster to work properly. I'm still getting weird sound issues while playing Bioshock, once a lot of sounds start happening at the same time, some of them will just cut out.

Anyone know of any fixes for my Augidy 2?

im running
eVGA NF68 Nvidia nforce 680i sli
eVGA Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 MB
4 gigs of Crucial Balistix
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping Kentsfield 2.40GHz

Also using audigy 2 zs with no real problems. I don't have my eq and such but the sound works and I even have EAX via Alchemy.
Try removing everything drivers and card then run driver cleaner pro to remove stuff that was left over. Then try using the outdated drivers from creative's site.
I also wish we could get some updated drivers.

I was on the creative labs site last night and noticed they are giving out the Vista software and driver cd for free on their site. I dont know if it will solve any problems since it hasn't arrived yet but ill let yas know ;)

The only problem i seem to have is i cant locate a way to mute my microphone so that i dont hear myself. this gets annoying. Other than that i dont have any x-fi problems but I dont use the card for anything other than music & gaming so no complex musician/midi/editing stuff tested by me.

I got same system specs as you, Vista Ult 64bit etc...

am use this driver

SBAXVSD_PCDRV_LB_2_12_0002.exe

works fine.
games i played it with.
TF2
HL2:EP2
Portal
GRAW
COD4 DEMO
SIM CITY 4

You also might want to check speaker cables...
pluged in properly, naked copper etc....
depending on the quality, I have a $30 shity speakers for my gf to use on other computer, and i hav to rotate the plug (while its pluged in fully), like trying to crack a safe open.
Once i found the right spot thou, and not move it, its fine.
