try live one iv been happy for a year and going to renew in the new year. have had the rest nothing but problems. the only thing about live one is its fussy about back ups. must be done every 6 weeks i think. had to buy a few external hard drives for extra space. i am running vista home 32bit. found one trojan all year and got rid of it. very happy farout

Re: Whats the Best Antivirus/ Security Suite??

I am running NOD32 and think it is just as good if not better than anything else out there.

Combine that with Spybot and you are good to go.

Kaspersky has had to many screwups. To many false positives.

NOD32 is top of the pile. Been there for at least 3 years.

Its just to good!

Re: Whats the Best Antivirus/ Security Suite??

Hey everyone,
With all of the buffer overflow and intrusion out these days you deffinatly need a good firewall with any computer. No matter what you do.
Windows firewall is good but no where even near comodo. I have been messing around with there program for about half a year now and it finds everything.
One hacker tried to plant a virus on my HD in the system32 part of C:/ and i found out because comodo asked if i wanted a certain file to be updated from the internet and i denied it, went into lockdown mode(great feature for the internet firewall part),
and never even got the virus.
I use comodo internet security which is firewall+anti-virus | Spybot S&D | MalwareBites.
Only had one problem when i first started. I allowed(didnt notice what it said and just clicked yes) a rouge trojan in. Took a while but i got ride of it.
Try these and i guatentee that you will have a great computer experience.

Just remember: YOU CAN NEVER BE FULLY PROTECTED! But you can be the next thing to it

What do you base that suggestion on? I haven't found any reliable information at all when it comes to the reliability of the antivirus package in comodo internet security.

Personally I want any anti virus I use to automatically "quarantine" every trojan so that it is disabled unless I stupidly go to the quarantine file and reinstall it.

Re: Whats the Best Antivirus/ Security Suite??

well used a few and comodo not a bad one to be fair but the whole package is just not needed unless your a business but as for anti-virus nod32 is teh best gets the best results when tested by the proper people and works, personally a firewall is more important than antivirus as if it works you don't need your anti-virus so when buying your next anti-virus think about that, it gets rid of them once their on your system but what about stopping them before they get on!!! thats where you want a really good firewall and is worth spending more on than anti-virus.

as for a firewall i paid 400quid for one that is well very good but then it's personall preference at that point really.

and not to belittle anyone with an opinion but opinions don't really count for much the facts as they stand are that nod32 is the best antivirus out there, it may change but seeing as nod32 is the only anti-virus not to fail any of the tests thrown at it i doubt it will be changing soon and for those nonbelievers out there just look it up in a 10 min google search.

i only just changed to nod32 about 5 days ago after reading the report from the testing.

but without a doubt the best way to stop getting a virus other than stay offline is vigilance when pressing your mouse buttons pick sites wisly and don't open spam e-mails, it's all common sence.

and as for hackers if they want in their getting in you'd have to be the NSA or MI6 to stop them getting in your home system.

I doubt even the government can stop determined hackers...

After all, if they were so good at IT security how come many agents have mysteriously lost tons of data? (This was in the UK, MI5 I think)

There is NO such thing as a "Secure system". If a hacker wants in and your network is connected to the web, its only a matter of time before its breached. I suppose you would need a team of counter-hackers to monitor the network 24/7 in order to attempt to secure it.
