| Newbie Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: Check d not working or system restore Shawn, Tried doing a few at a time even if I install one the computer fails to initialize next and have to run startup repair which restores windows uninstalling everyother update as usual. Can their be anything with the downloaded files itself as I have heard at times the files don't download coorectly and not uless deleted the errors cannot be fixed from the download |

| Newbie Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: Check d not working or system restore NOPE.. didnt need a reinstall as I mentioned before the downloaded updates might be corrupted so if I delete and re-download it might work... well it worked ![]() ![]() . So for future reference for people who might be stuck and might need help for an error code: 800F0816, computer does not load up after restart due to updating windows Note down the number of that update eg KB941600 (can be more than one update) and the go to ure C:\ drive or ure normal OS drive>windows>software distribution> downloads> and now the hard part... you will have to look up in pretty much every folder and this could take a while... search every folder for a file with that code in.. it would be easier if you have WinRAR as this will help you find the file easier as it is a WinRAR archive file... so look for a file with a name like Windows6.0-KB946041-x86-EXPRESS or .... windows6.0-kb946041-x86.psf.cix maybe different but you are looking for the bold bit as that is the file with the error... As soon as you find this file go back to its folder and delete the WHOLE folder... you can trust me on this if still trust is an issue back the file up but move it form downloads. and now restart your computer and let windows update itself or you can do so by "[Checking] for updates". ![]() Feel free to edit this solution for the problem to make it easier or to help other vicims suffering from this bug. |
