keep in mind that you need to uninstall Norton to run the trial (or any other antivirus). Multiple antivirus installations causes problems. Norton will not uninstall properly. Use this to uninstall it completely.

How do I uninstall Norton antivirus?
KB Solutions ID: SOLN41

Running more than one antivirus program on a computer can cause system instability, as the two applications will conflict. If Norton antivirus software was installed on your system at any point in time, please complete the following steps before installing your ESET security product:
  1. To download, save and run the Norton Removal tool for versions 2003 to 2007, click here.

  2. After Norton (or any other antivirus software) has been uninstalled, please download a fresh copy of an ESET security product.
