Re: Security Team

O yes it does seem great. The only thing is that reformat software. I dont think that is REALLY needed but if you think is is really neccassery, you can go ahead and keep it. But if something were to glitch and you DID have something you didnt know you had but you needed, you will regret it.
Besides that everything sounds great.
Ben

P.S.- What AV, AS, AM, and Firewall do you use

NOD32 and Avast, Search and destroy, defender and McAfee Security suite.

I have comodo firewall pro.

I think the formatting is ok. All my important files are backed up to my laptop when they are both on at the same time and in the same LAN. The laptop has a little less security but it has a fingerprint reader so no need for passwords.

Sure, it's safe. But you're really asking for trouble. If you get a crash you'll probably get locked out of all your data for no good reason. There's no reason whatsoever for a regular home user to encrypt the hard drive. You could safely keep your sensitive files in a basic truecrypt volume (make it a hidden volume if your parents/police/girlfriend force you to reveal passwords every now and then... Re: Security Team

I have true crypt volumes for the highly sensitive data

Besides, my computer is just a big toy. I rebuilt it every few months anyways. I like breaking it

Also - I wonder what you could need to hide from the police...

You aren't running 2 anti virus and 2 firewalls are you ? It's just that your answer says NOD32 and Avast which are both anti virus programs, you say you have Comodo Firewall Pro and also McAfee Security Suite which I believe contains a firewall.

Can you clear that up for me

Re: Security Team

Avast real-time is disabled and so is the mcafee firewall

Its just for scanning incase NOD32 misses somthing.

Well, if anything should ever happen to NOD I can activate avast in a click. Makes me feel better
