Airbot!!! Welcome! Everything in the refrigerator is fresh (just check the dates).

I downloaded and installed Spybot but I got an error during installation. I checked their forum and they said that it has to be installed and ran as administrator. I uninstalled it and reinstalled with admin and everything went well.

What do you use RichFrogg?
And have you ever had any virus problems?

Right now I'm using Norton until the trial period ends in February. I'm undecided what I'll use after that. I also use Ad-Aware and Secunia (and now SpyBot) in conjunction with online scanners.

So far I have been free of critters.

I've been careful about the permissions I give. The one thing that worries me is encountering webpages that ask to install Active-X controls. I was on one page @ blackplanet.com that had a video on it and I installed the control because I figured it was for the video controls. The thing that worried me about it was when I visited the page again it asked me to install the control again. Is that normal?

Did you save it to a temp folder then clean your cookies or temp files?
It also just had been an update to the controller.

I think I did clean out the cookies, I'm always scanning and cleaning

What was the name of the article you posted from Maximum PC? When I click on the link it tells me I'm not authorized to view. I registered and I'm still not able to view it.
