Un-installling Comodo Firewall without Screwing up x64

To really uninstall Comodo Firewall - without screwing up Vista - you have to jump through some hoops. First you have to enable Vista's hidden Administrator account. In the Vista search type "cmd" and at the command prompt type the following:

net user administrator /active:yes

Reboot and choose the Administrator account. This would be a good time to go into into Control Panel > Users and set a password for the Administrator account if you haven't already. Not necessary for the un-install, but a good idea.

Next run msconfig from the Vista search. In the Startup tab un-check anything Comodo and click Apply. Go to the 'Services' tab and un-check any thing Comodo. Click Apply.

Reboot into the Administrator account. You're ready to go to the Control Panel, "Programs and Features," and un-install Comodo. Reboot.

There's still some files left so if you want to look in 'Program Files' and 'Program Files(x86)' you can delete anything that says Comodo.

Finally de-activate the Administrator account in Vista with the cmd in search and

net user administrator /active:no

Reboot.

This worked for me and Comodo is finally gone. Yea!

Hope this helps,
