Hi, Im having real trouble with my laptop, i stupidily uninstalled my AV software the other day and now im plagued by viruses. i had totalsecure 2009 which i think i managed to delete all the files for it as its not showing up anywhere now. i then got the AVG 8.0 free version, did a scan and it keeps finding the WIN32/HEUR 8 times. I then decided to do the windows one care scan and it found these viruses:
win32/zlob.gen
win32/renos.du
win32/chepdu.b
win32/small.zzb,

it said it had cleaned the nessesary files and deleted the viruses, but im still unsure of this.
I tried to do a system restore but to my horror the only day i could go back to and was listed was the day i got the viruses.
when i try to go online normally, im on there for about 4 mins until i get the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

So now i have to go online using safemode with networking, i need some advice on what is causing this and how to stop it all, i also cannot access certain websites like malwarebytes etc.. is this the virus stopping me from doing this?

please help,
emma.

You should first back up ALL IMPORTANT FILES! also you never ever want to use networking in saf mode. It was a huge flaw in Windows. In safe mode your AV doesnt start up and neither does ur firewall. U are 10000......% more vonerable when you do that. SO you should start it in safe mode and if you do need anything, shut down and start up normally, access what you need, download to thumbdrive or desktop. Then boot in safe mode again
For now though, go to windows defender and look for any "unusual" programs or operations running.
Let me know how that goes.

Hi, and thx for ure response, ive done a full scan in safe mode with windows defender and it found nothing, which is a bit confusing but it did say that it needed updating and as i cant access the web for longer than a couple of minutes without getting the BSOD this is impossible for me to do. ive also backed up onto external hardrive all my important files. thx for telling me about the safe mode with networking i didnt realise i was putting myself at risk still, so thx for that. i would relly appreciate more of ure help,

Windows Defender is a bit futile at detecting Malware. You should download and run RogueMover Malabytes for a start. You should also be aware that many spyware removal programs such as SpyDoctor and Spy Hunter will regard some system files as a Zlob Trojan and will remove them accordingly. These programs must be used with caution. Run the search and identify each entry of the net if possible before cleaning them.
The new Malwares such as Anti-Viris 2009 etc. Block Malabytes and other spyware sites. You can try downloading it direct here

http://www.majorgeeks.com/RogueRemover_d5360.html

There are some good instruction for Rogue Removal here :-

Ok emma,
Here is most likely the best solution for your problem
To use PC Restore: This will reset you computer to its original state you had it when it first came out of the box. Your HDD with be wiped out and restored with the exact things as when you first got your computer.

1 Turn on the computer.

2 Immediately press <Ctrl><F11>.

If you do not press <Ctrl><F11> in time, let the computer finish restarting, and then restart the computer again.

Follow the pretty much self explanitory steps and let me know how everything goes

Hope this helps,
Ben

Hi emma,

Ben is trying to help you to completely restore your system to how it was when you first got it.You will need to install non windows programs again. You will not need any discs to do this as everything needed is already on your hard drive. and dont worry about your other worries as they are unfounded :)
Just follow the onscreen menu to restore your system.

When it is finished you can then reinstall your back ups that you have made from your external hardrive

I hope this helps

Pooch.
