Spyware Issue

Hello All;

Can someone recommend a good spyware program for Vista 64? I've tried PCTOOLS Spy Doctor. It ran and found spyware and removed it, however when I turned the computer on next it had boot errors. I ended up having to work with HP(very good help) and reload Vista from scratch. I hadn't backed up yet, but there was nothing to lose as the computer was one day old, just lost time.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Spyware Issue

then to be honest id be happy with that , less is more

defender is a malware blocker/detector and norton has one too , you have 2 there already

Re: Spyware Issue

Another one that I use is SpywareBlaster, that isn't a scanner as such but stops the baddies putting bits in the register.

I've used it for several years in each new OS I've had

Re: Spyware Issue

The MVPS website Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites recommends not to install Spywareblaster on vista.

Also see this thread.

Re: Spyware Issue

My thanks to all who gave me help. I went with the spybot and it seems to be working fine. It killed so many spyware issues it wasn't even funny.
