| Windows Vista™ Home Premium | Re: firewall Yes kikidee i think you should. Vista's firewall is more so program based. Specific programs. Comodo is much more in depth and also gives you much more info. You can set it so that EVERY thing that you do, you have to approve in comodo. Its a very very nice program. I recommend it to everyone that i help and they all tell me how much they love them. Let me know if you need any help. I would be happy to help. Have a good one, Ben Hello CSK44, and welcome to Vista Forums. You might try the free Comodo Firewall instead to see how it works for you. Hope this helps, Shawn peace |

| Windows Vista™ Home Premium | Re: firewall Also, It might seem like you are having no problems but you really dont know. Vista's firewall doesn't tell you anything. It does everything itself. Its ok for the beginning to common user but for people with a little more experiance its a greaet tool and you will love it. I also like there AV program. It doesnt have a great real time scanner, but the full system scan does a great job. It finds even the littleest things. Have a good night and ill check in late afternoon here. Ben |

| Windows Seven Home Premium | Re: firewall no antivirus will be any good if it is not up to date, this is why i suggested the online scan i am assuming that is what crashed in mid scan? the only other thing i can think to do (other than formatting your hard disk and reinstalling windows) is to remove your hard drive to another clean computer with a good antivirus and use that to scan it. check out the post at the start of SYSTEM SECURITY / VIRUS REMOVAL TECHNIQUES / posted by merkat106 or try posting your problem with the INFECTION RESOLVING TEAM one of those guys may have some more ideas, i only wish i could have been of more help, best wishes i hope your troubles are resolved soon |
