Glad this is a poll, not a question. In reality, there is no "best" because everyone has different habits and systems, what works "best" for one person, my not be nearly as effective for another person, who has a different habits and hardware.

My personal choice is Avira Premium Security Suite.

Hard to vote as I have experience of McAfee, Symantec and F-Secure only. I would say Symantec is better than Mcafee and that F-Secure is good too. Mcafee, on the other hand, has provided me with fair support. Symantec never did, though it my have changed. Support is cruical.

My Opinion is that Eset NOD32 is the better one for me. I've gotten on it with the easiest. I've used Norton, Mcaffee, AVG and Sophos. It's just superior in functionality i believe.

Trend Micro has done right with me, I do check quite often to see if its missing anything with Kaspersky Online virus scan. Kaspersky is what I'm going to use when my trend runs out.

FWIW,

I have been very happy with Avast...not too many choices with x64, especially for free. I have used McAfee with less than ideal results on my x86 systems (found 34 issues with Malwarebytes on the wife's laptop that McAfee had not addressed) :sarc:

Used Symantec (albeit 2004) with horrible results on a former companies networked systems. Sophos worked well for me in the office W2K environment.

My Best,

Michael

You cannot say which is the best as that is down to what works for each person and everyone has their own opinion on what they think of as best.

There is also the question of whether you want paid or free and you can't possible list all the anti virus programs that are out there and there may be people who prefer what isn't listed.

These are the most common anti virus people prefer. And i know that there is no BEST anti virus which can provide 100% protection. I already mentioned that we do not need any lenghty explanations. Its just a poll to see what people have admired so that anyone who has this question can at least look at the poll results and make his own choice. ;)
