need help with my computer

hey my computer is acting up, and i need help with it.
i have a dell xps 630i thats running windows vista. on friday, around 230 eastern time, my computer crashed. when i went to turn it back on tho, i saw something different with the dell writing, and the intel logo on the bottom right corner. they both were covered with dots eveywhere. After that screen passes by, i got a different new screen that i never got before. it was a phoenix awardbios screen. and below that it said, floppy disk(s) fail (40). never seen that before. when i try to start my computer up, i can either go to start up repair or start normally. when i do the start up repair( ive done it 9 times already) it says my computer cant fix the problem, and then i can either send or not the error report. and when i start it up normally, it goes to a blank screen. and then my computer goes into power save mode. anyone know whats up with it and how i can fix it.

Re: need help with my computer

Sounds like your bios is corrupt.
On next boot go into your bios and check the date. Also check all the other settings if you know what thay are.
Do you have a floppy drive?

Re: need help with my computer

I worked with dell and I believe that's a case of failing video card. The floppy disks fail, man I've had so many of these calls, I really can't remember. Call technical support, it'll take 5 minutes. They know that issue to the last detail. "Thank you for calling Dell, Welcome to the XPS experience. My name is..." Whew miss those days.

I guess he must have gotten help. As far as I remember it's a replacement graphics card that solves that one. With the floppy disks it's just some setting in the bios.
