    Antispyware?

    Hi all, I'm running Vista Premium 64bit and have been using free antispyware programs such as malwarebytes, Asquared free and Adaware, so far these have done a good job of keeping everything clean! (As far as I know!)



    What I would like to know is-

    1. Are the paid versions of antispyware programs worth having over the free ones?

    2. I have looked at loads of reviews on various sites and the top two seem to be Counterspy and Spysweeper, would you agree with this?

    I'm currently using the 14 day trial of Counterspy and it's easy to use etc. but before I pay for the full version I thought I'd ask you guys for your reviews/advice/recommendations.

    PS: just in case it makes a difference my AV is Avast.

    Hello Avo,

    I have always found that the free anti-malware programs Malwarebytes and a Microsoft Security Essentials to be great and just as good if not better than the paid ones. They both work great with Avast.

    I have not used Counterspy, so I cannot give an opinion on it.
