    Is it possible to disable UAC for specific programs?

    First, I added the three programs in the pic to the start up folder, but they get blocked. I have to manually run each one and then accept the UAC. So, I next tried adding to the task scheduler and running at log on, but they still bring up the UAC.

    IS there a way to accomplish this for these programs?
    Core Temp;
    HD Tune;
    ZoneAlarm

    Yes, I'm aware of that option, but that is overkill. I want to selectively disable the feature for programs that I want to have run at log in. My guess is that these ^ programs are not signed by Microsoft.

    Hello Dick Jagger.

    Have a look at the tutorial at the link below to see if it'll work for you; be sure to post back to keep us informed. It is a very bad idea to disable UAC, if you do so any maleware that gets into your system will have free access to do whatever it wants with no warning to you.

    Thanks - I've tried Task - Create to Run a Program at Startup and Log On - Windows 7 Forums to create my scheduled tasks, which now do run at login, but I stll get the UAC for them. It seems that this would pretty simple for Microsoft to have implemented natively, at least as a feature for Admin. users only.

    Try putting the shortcut created with this in the startup folder; let me know if it works, you may need to leave the original on the desktop and put a "copy" of the shortcut in the file for it to work.

    ^ Awesome! That definitely works... combining the UAC task shortcut with the start up programs instead.

    I now only have the ZoneAlarm Client being blocked by Defender at startup, but the Zone Alarm.exe program actually runs fine(and without UAC) anyway using your suggestion. Thanks.

    Re: Is it possible to disable UAC for specific programs?

    One of the programs that I was able to have run at startup without UAC prompting, CoreTemp, starts with the program interface displayed and in the system tray. I'd like to have the program start minimized or hidden. I have tried to have it run minimized but that doesn't work - I still have to select File > Show/Hide. I have also added "-hide" as a parameter in the target of the shortcut, but this also doesn't work. Is there a way to accomplish this? THanks.

    Hello again.

    Is that the same behavior when the app is started regularly?
