Hello,
I wanted to know since i was hacked into by someone i knew.this person is very educated ...think mayby networking,im not sure. This happened back in late 2010 i have probably removed any registry changes by now. I am pretty sure it was a link posted on facebook that he wanted me to see that put something on my comp, so he could logg on and use my email.
Really id like to know if in computer management if there are any records of ip adresses, and if so where do I look? I noticed there are special logons in security comp managment if that means anything. i may be out of luck finding out,but i thought it was worth a try. I cant say I really understand why it was done, but it doesnt seem fair to do that.
thanks

Hello fredrick and welcome to the forums

Can you do the following for me please

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Download and install MBAM from here
Run a full scan and attach the log for us

OTL

Download OTL to your desktop.
Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed to let it run uninterrupted.
When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
Under the Standard Registry box change it to All.
Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.

Once OTL has completed its first scan it will save notepad copies of the scans in the folder that OTL was started from. Unless set to produce an Extras log it will only produce OTL.txt in subsequent scans.

A copy of an OTL fix log is saved in a text file at

:\_OTL\MovedFiles
in most cases this will be C:\_OTL\MovedFiles

Please attach both OTL.txt and Extras.txt with your next post

Tom

My Computer

Just wondering,It doesnt look like i will find anyproof, that would be my guess.
do you know usually what kind of link that i clicked could give access to my files and email.I mean what kind of program was downloaded? this happened in 2011

My Computer

Well I'm guessing he sent you a link to this file (because its in the temporary internet files):

c:\Users\clayton\AppData\Local\microsoft\Windows\temporary internet files\Low\Content.IE5\46YH6E03\new-video-addon.48661[1].exe

This Trojan.Downloader would allow the person remote access to your computer which he could then run scripts etc. remotely.

I don't want to do anything more than a Malwarebytes scan because I'm not qualified but I thought it would be better to remove the malware as soon as possible.

We shall wait for our security expert :)

If you're sure that its this person who's sent you the virus and is remotely accessing your files then you should report that person to the police

No I am not sure if this is the same person.I took notice that he was using my email in late 2010 I was getting emails from bearshare ,a program I no longer use.He used my email to create a profile on classmates.I looked him up and found him on facebook.I guess he was really offended by that, and he posted things about where i was goin to school, looking into my comp to make fun of my browsing habits etc.
I had the port for bearshare disabled after that, and probably used malware bytse to remove everything.Really i think he went a bit to far,but he is a credit exsecutive ,figures they can find out anything about you.I wouldnt report it to the police.I went to school with him.I was just trying to find evidence that it was really him,im sure it was. i really appreciate your help, its been somewhat of a learning exsperiance

My Computer

I'm not sure you're clean yet, we need to wait for the security expert to give the nod :)

In the mean time, I would recommend that you change all of your password on a clean computer. Also, check the security settings for the online accounts because he may have changed the security questions.
