A few days ago I took some steps to remove Vista Repair from my laptop. I'm no pro, but I use Malwarebytes, McAfee, and Spybot. I was hoping it was gone.
I got back on for the first time again today and found Security Protection had blessed me with its presence. As you probably know, I can't open a thing, not Task Manager, not Command Prompt... As I understand it, all programs under a name other than defender.exe will be blocked. I tried searching for the file, and got nothing. Then I went under Folder Options and made hidden files visible. Not only could I still not see defender.exe but I saw that Vista Repair was still there.
There was a Security Protection icon on my desktop, and I went to the file location from there and tried deleting and it didn't work.
I'm not sure what I can do considering even my most basic resources aren't available to me.
A lot of people recommend systems restore, but I'm not skilled enough for that.
Thanks.
MMC.
