left computer on my user screen to go pick up wife from work. upon return, multiple windows open stating unable to save to certain locations on computer. clicked cancel on all screens, approximately 20 windows. after last screen, supposedly the windows system was running a scan. the window did not look like the Windows System scan window. it supposedly detected several issues with the system. i tried to exit out of the window, but it just minimized itself. and yes, i am very computer literate and i do know which button is the minimize button and which is the exit button. i clicked the exit button. the only way i could get it off the screen, was to shut off the computer. when i tried logging into my user screen, it started as normal, but as the boot cycle completed, the multiple windows popped up again stating unable to save to certain locations again. shut down comp. again. this time, i logged into my wife's user account. it came up with no problem and operated with no problem. logged off and logged into kid's account with no problem and operated with no problems. logged off and logged into my account and presto, same situation as before, multi windows and all. came someone assist with this?

to add to this post, when trying to access my files or folders from the other accounts, i am unable to open the files. if i try to drag the folders to the other accounts, the folders can be dropped to the other accounts but they are empty. Please tell me that my files are not lost completely.

First, scan your computer with Malwarabyes and an antivirus.
Second, from the start menu check your startup folder. Delete anything in it that looks suspicious.

In the future if you get a suspicious pop up the safest way to get rid of it is to kill the browser.
