I immediately manually loaded the program, thought a moment and did an immediate reboot, as well as what I'd done immediately preceeding the program crash, to attempt a deliberate provocation.

it didnt recurr. yet.

Sometimes programs will hit the odd bug I wouldn't worry too much unless it's a recurring event. If it does continue to occur, despite having reinstalled the program, I would suggest switching to MSE:
