Suspected virus : start.mysearchdial.com

Does anyone know how to get rid of this suspected virus ? It appeared on my laptop last night, and was closing down IE frequently. I have done a disk clean up this morning and error checking. Everything seems to be working as it was now, but using IE one of the tabs (top of page) shows TalkTalk Security (which is what I have). If I click on that tab I will go back to TalkTalk's warning - harmful site, do not enter.
Prior to disk clean up, I used Google Chrome and found that 'start.mysearchdial.... etc' is a virus, and can be difficult to remove. The only thing I can connect it with, last night, was when I had a look at Roxio Creator, and it may have come with that. I have since uninstalled Roxio.

Hi
If the virus is new the best and easiest way to get rid of it is with a System Restore, go back a week before the time the virus could have possbilby accessed the system.
It is a little know fact that restore points cannot be affected by a virus. The problem is if you use a Restore Point that was made after the virus, the virus will spread.

richc46, Did a disk clean up and error check yesterday, which took ages, but seemed to clear matters up, and put things back to almost normal. The "start.mydial search" etc was still showing up on the first tab which came on when I started up the laptop, but I was able to open up fresh tabs and continue as normal.
However, in the last 20 mins. I have opened the toolbar - Internet Options, and on the General pane "start.mysearchdial..." was shown as the Home Page. It was highlighted in blue, so I deleted it, and ticked 'default' which has put me back to msn.com
Thanks for your suggestion. It does look as though the disk clean up and error check has wound things back.
