Disable Fingerprint Reader Icon in Vista Welcome and Lock Screen?

I installed it on my notebook Fingerprint Reader Suite v.5.8.2 (UPEK). The problem is that in the "Welcome" screen of Vista, as well as in the "Locked" screen appears whenever two icons: one icon is my username with my profile picture; while the other is the icon of the fingerprint reader that says "Logon fingerprint. swipe your finger."

Previously, I used the fingerprint reader and appeared only my profile picture, full size, in welcome and my name of the user account and the field screen to enter the password below image.

It was enough just slide your finger to login and not two icons appeared on the screens of "welcome" / "locked".

Can anyone help me telling how do I remove the icon from the Fingerprint Reader welcome screen and leave only my profile picture with my name and field to enter the password?

Thanks!:(

Hi dersonpg,

Follow the path below and see if you can find Biometrics Devices in the Control Panel:

Control Panel -> Hardware & Sound -> Biometric Devices

Look for and click on Change Settings

Keep me informed to your progress.

Hello bbbluz!

Follow the procedures you showed me but in Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> there is nothing related to biometric control.

I found the fingerprint sensor in the "Additional Options" menu and open the same but the only tabs that are available in this menu are the "trial" and "finger test".

An idea that occurred to me was updating the driver for biometric device that was installed. When I've downloaded the "Protector Suite QL" came the next driver to be installed, however I have not updated the driver and installed the software without updating the driver. I'll update the driver and reinstall the software to see if any change occurs in the "Control Panel" of Vista and warning after I have updated the driver. The way I look qualquier any other suggestions about and thank you for the help provided. Thank you and see you soon!

Hello dersonpg (waves),

Do you still plan on keeping the program on your system and using it in the future? If so, updating the driver is a good idea.

Hm? Not in Control Panel -> Hardware & Sound -> Biometric Devices, huh? How about Devices and Printers? There is a Biometric Devices in Device Manager, right?

Please keep me informed.

I tried updating the driver but a message stating that "the best driver software for your device is already installed". In the "Hardware and Sound" control panel and "Printers" shows nothing related to biometric devices. Have searched all over the control panel and fingerprint sensor only appears in "additional options" that as I had reported before only shows the windows "version" and "finger test" ...

Type FingerPrint Reader into Start Search and right click on it then choose properties. Look in there to see if there is a tab you can click on to enable or disable. Reboot the computer once complete.

If you have no success, I fear we will have to wait on one of the other members who may be more familiar with this.
