I'm afraid I do not understand what your problem is since you say you have it.

You might consider using DeskScapes instead.

How to Enhance Windows Vista DreamScene with Stardock DeskScapes

Hi,

I too have DreamScene in installed and works fine. My problem is that I do not see the pictures of the video on the icons, all I get is a DVD disk that shows that it is a media file. This is probably a codec issue but I have installed all the Video codecs that I can get my hands on? any ideas?

I am running Vista x64 Ultimate on a ASUS P5E3 Delux M/board. 4 Gigs of DDR-3 with the Intel Q6600 Quad 2.4 CPU.

Re: DreamScene

Hi BJ,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

Sometimes it takes a while to load all of the thumbnails since they are large video files.

Is this just for these file types that you do not see the thumbnails for?

If not, then check to make sure that you have thumbnails turned on. This tutorial will show you how if needed.

Thumbnails in Windows Explorer

If yes, then check to see if Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Media Player have all of their default associations set to them. This tutorial will show you how to if needed.

Default Programs - Program Default Associations

Hope this helps,

Re: DreamScene

Hi Gunther,

I like it, but I use Stardock DeskScapes with Dreamscenes to have a better selection of backgrounds.

Re: DreamScene

So is it worth getting dreamscenes then... as in do you still use it.. or is it just something cool you show people. I don't want to get it.. and download everything.. only to like it for a week. then go back to my original usual wallpapers.. thats all

Re: DreamScene

I still use Deskscapes with a animated background. You can still easily switch between using normal wallpapers, Dreamscenes, or Deskscapes dreams without having to uninstall anything unless you just wanted to. It's really up to you if it is worth it or not. If you like animated backgrounds, then it may be worth it for you.

Hope this helps,

Re: DreamScene

Cool, thanks for the info. I might Give it a try just to see.. What about Screensavers. I was watching a clip of one of the producers of Far Cry2. and his computer screen had NOTHING on it. but wilderness tree's moving in the wind. it could have been a game sitting there, but it looked like a screensaver of real life nature. thats what I want. I don't really need the Dream stuff or moving wallpapers. I just want a cool screensaver. ya kno. I'll try and find the vid so you can see for yourself...

Here it is.. It's more than likely just the nature thats in the game of Far Cry 2. But I want something like that as my Screensaver. I think it's totally Sweet.
Have any idea's where I could find or get or make something like that. let me kno? thanks!

edit* oh is it not letting me post a link to youtube.. I guess that might be it..

Go to Youtube and type Far Cry 2 developers Diary.. I think it's the first one.. it will be a guy with black hair. and a green shirt. check out the computers background. I want that as a screensaver. or something similar.

Re: DreamScene

Gunther,

I do not know about screen savers, but you might find a Stardock DeskScapes dream file with something similar at this link after you installed everything.
