| Ultimate SP1 x64 & x86 | Re: Context Menu - Take Ownership For those who don't want the trick on the context menu and find a bit complicated the way to do it manually, they can do it this way: Copy those 2 lines in notepad and save as for example: takeownership.cmd Put the file in your windows directory. takeown /f %1 /r icacls %1 /grant yourusername:F /t Now when you want to take ownership of a file or folder, run the command prompt as administrator and type in: takeownership C:\folder for which you want to take ownership (or file) If the entry is a folder, you will have ownership on all files within the folder. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Context Menu - Take Ownership Hi Bukavu, What is the name and location of the file that you are trying to delete? The file may be in use. You might try booting into Safe Mode and see if you can delete it from there. This tutorial will show you how to boot into Safe Mode if needed. Safe Mode Shawn |
