How to Turn Narrator On or Off in Vista
Information
Narrator will read aloud what is on the screen as you navigate using the keyboard or mouse. This will show you how to turn Narrator temporarily on or off, and on or off at the startup of Vista. Narrator is turned off by default.
NOTE
Narrator is not available in all languages, so if the steps below do not work, then Narrator may not be available for your language.
The Narrator exe file is located at: C:\Windows\System32\Narrator.exe
EXAMPLE: Narrator NOTE:To adjust Narrator settings, just click on Preferences on the menu bar.
EXAMPLE: Ease of Access Center - Read Aloud Option NOTE:Check and uncheck the Always read this section aloud box to turn this option on and off.
Here's How:
1. Open the Control Panel (Classic view). NOTE:This will show you how to turn Narrator temporarily on until you click Exit (See example at the top) in the narrator window , and on or off to run at the startup (To have Narrator run at Startup in video) of Vista.
2. Click on the Click to Play button in the video below.
