This can help determine if you may be able to recover anything. If you did Option Two, the NOTE warns of losing everything in the user folders. Your programs will still be installed, but you will need to create new shortcuts. Shawn |

Matr91, Using OPTION ONE will not delete anything on your computer other than the currupted copy of the SID key, which is then replaced by the one with BAK on it. Your files should still be at the C:\Users\(user name) location for that user account, and none of your installed programs are affected by this. What all are you missing? |

Just to give some backgrond information as to the source of the problem, I keep losing my Internet connection. When I cycled the Ethernet modem and wireless router back on, this time it lost my desktop. I restarted, and then it couldn't find my User Profile. As for why I keep losing my Internet connection, that's another story. Thanks, --e. |
