Yeah, you will not be able to do this from within a Standard user account. It must be done from with a administrator or the built-in Administrator account instead. You might see if you can do a System Restore at boot using a restore point dated before this error to see if it can fix it for you. Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Windows Vista Enterprise 32 bit | Re: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. Hello Brink, I use my HP laptop for my work, its HP compaq 6510b with vista enterprise SP1. I was worried when I encountered the same error , and moreover I had not backed up the data for a month . I came across your thread and tried the solution provided and it worked. Thank you very much. I could back up my data and now the system is also back to normal. Shashi |

| Vista Home | Re: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. Hi, Thanks so much for writing this topic. I can get up to Option 1 Step 6, and then I am unable to rename the file because when I delete the .bak at the end of the name, there is already another file of the same name, so I am unable to rename it. What do you suggest? I am also not very tech savvy, so if you could explain it in the most simplest manner, that would be absolutely wonderful! I also have one teeny question, if I perform Option 1 to my system, all the files will still be intact, is that correct? Thanks so absolutely much for the help, Anita |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit [x86] - SP2 | Re: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. I'd never ever experienced any problems with User Account Login for some twenty months, and yet in the last month, the User Profile service has failed the logon twice, and I still cannot figure out why this should just happen out of the blue. What causes this malfunction to 'hit' without warning? Not only that, at both 'failed' events, it has happened to the Administrator User Account, leaving the Standard User Account free to open normally. I'm thankful that I took the advice of another Forum Member to set up the Standard User Account, as through that account, as the Administrator, I have been able to resolve the issue [don't know for how long though], by doing a system restore. Sure beats me as to what is going on. |
