Hello Mangoo, and welcome to Vista Forums.

If what Flavius suggested still does not help, then you might see if a System Restore using a restore point dated before this error may be able to help.

ya i have this exact problem, except I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR. so with this message coming up, i cant download any files, delete any files, etc. because i have to get permission from the admin (which is myself) but i cant due to this error mesage. PLEASE HELP. i would appreciate it very much!

Hello RugbyDude, and welcome to Vista Forums.

If you mean that this is the built-in Administrator account and not the default administrator account given during installation and that you cannot do either steo in the STEP ONE section, then you might see if doing a System Restore using a restore point dated before this error may help.

ya i think im just going to have to get the vista instalation cd and completely restart everything because doing a system restore didnt work. thanks for the help though

If you pass throgh to WinRE you can try enable build-in admin and try repair your system from this account - although I don't know it is worth to try in your situation:

Small question Brink, first thanks for the tutorials they are a real help. The PC has two hard disks and I would like to have all the OS / programs on one and the User files, my documents, videos,etc on the second hard disk. Is there a way to set up that so that when a user opens his / hers profile she / he is automatically routed to the second HDD. Thanks very much for your advise, B regards

Hello Calabrache,

Sure. You can change the locations for your user folders to be somewhere else instead. This tutorial below can help show you how to, but be sure to read the warnings at the top though to help avoid problems from doing it. Personally I would not recommend doing it unless you just really needed the hard drive space though.

When I boot into safe mode, I can log in to my account, but when not in safe mood, it gives me the error message at the top? How should I proceed with these methods? Do I still need to log in to the built-in admin?

Hello Acreed, and welcome to Vista Forums.

As long as you are able to boot into a administrator account while in Safe Mode, you should be able to follow the steps in the tutorial. If not for some reason, then go ahead and boot into the built-in Administrator account instead to do them.
