You wouldn't have a SID key for "House" until you actually logged on to it the first time to have the account fully prepared and setup.

If you cannot create a new account at all, then I would recommend to back up anything that you do not want to lose to be safe. If it has not been to long before this started, you might see if doing a System Restore at boot using a restore point dated before you had this problem may be able to fix it.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Hello Phoenix, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You should not lose anything, but it is always best to backup anything that you do not want to lose to be safe.

    hello again thanx for helping..

i ve tried the option one but i couldnt even logon this time, so i restarted with safe mode and changed the .bak folders as the previous situation.

now i am gonna try option two but i have one more question.. i back up all my important files thats ok.. but if i am gonna remove my current profile.. how can i save my programs and games ? i dont care about shortcuts.. i can create them again but programs??? are they gonna be removed too? if i try the option 2 ???

No, you will just lose the contents of that account's user folders when you delete a user account. The installed programs will remain intact except for their shortcuts since they are stored in the user folders as well.

Hello Mkc, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It sounds like you may have only copied and did not "copy and replace" when you did this one.

You should be able to delete the duplicate ones though that you do not want.
