Re: Display Settings - Enable or Disable Changing

This worked great!!
I spent hours trying to find the solution to a simular problem.
My screensaver option in "Personalize" was no longer there.
I could not change the screensaver picture or the settings.

The line I had to delete in the registery was...NoDispScrSavPage
I deleted it and rebooted and the screensaver in "Personalize" is
back again.

I guess my question would be how did this reg setting get changed.

I will bookmark this site for future reference.

Thank you
Mary Ann

Re: Screen Saver - Add or Remove Option

Your welcome Mary Ann, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It could have came from some tweak utilty program setting, some malware, or someone who has access to your computer may have changed.

Re: Screen Saver - Add or Remove Option

This kind problem stems from a virus that seems to be linked with trying to watch streaming movies over the internet. Make sure you know and trust the site(s) you use to watch streaming content.

edit... the name of the virus would be something like ZLOB.AR or WMCODEC.EXE or something with the name CODEC in it.
