Vista reactivates online so it's no trouble - it will reactivate automatically if you checked that box during reinstall process.

Otherwise you can do it manually. See this tutorial for how it's done

Re: Vista SP1 Slipstream Installation DVD

Hello Ari,

I'm not sure what may be causing that. You might also post this in the vLite forum to see if it is program specific.

Re: Vista SP1 Slipstream Installation DVD

That could be the problem Ari. Try enabling UAC and run the steps again with Run as administrator to see how it runs.

Re: Vista SP1 Slipstream Installation DVD

Hello Dadudedadude, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You may have a bad or wrong copy of the SP1. Try redownloading it and start over to see how it works for you then.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Vista SP1 Slipstream Installation DVD

Hi Ari,

Are you trying to slipstream SP1 and remove components at the same time ?

You have a better chance of success if you slipstream Sp1 first. To remove components, do it all again as a separate operation. You just need to browse to what were the original files ( FRMCXFRE ) as vLite will have added SP1 to these.

( If you only want to make 1 disc you need to click exit at the end of step 13, otherwise make 2 discs - one being vista complete with Sp1 , and the other being vista with Sp1 and your removals. This is for safety.)

Boxes to check for removal are : Components, Bootable iso and Enable before apply, then Next. When you have ticked the components to remove, click Apply to rebuild again with the changes, then create the Iso and Burn the image to disc.

Many people have trouble integrating microsoft updates, so it's better to leave that and let Vista get the post SP1 updates after you have installed.
