| VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | Re: Vista SP1 Slipstream Installation DVD Hi, For those with a "recovery partition" - check to see if it contains WAU files ( Windows Anytime Upgrade - the contents are identical to the full retail install disc ). You can use vLite to make a bootable iso of the WAU files , burn the image to disc and you have in effect a full retail install disc. See Shawn's tutorial on slipstreaming SP1 - obviously only check the Bootable iso box, browse to Wau files, click next, then create and burn the iso image as per the tutorial. (Don't forget - do not format the dvd - close autoplay if it pops up ). You now have a bootable install disc identical to the full retail version - have fun ! ( If you a recovery dvd it might be worth using autoplay to view the files on the dvd and then decide which if any to copy to hard disk). SIW2 Last edited by SIW2; 08-16-2008 at 09:12 PM.. |

If I put a spare(replace) Hdd in it, and try a full recovery, I wonder If it will make a recovery partition again? Now harm in trying,,,,,,, (with a different HDD of coarse) allan |

| VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | Re: Vista SP1 Slipstream Installation DVD Hi Equation, On XP you could just copy the wpa files on to a cd then copy them back after reinstall to save ringing microsoft to reactivate. Vista reactivates online so it's no trouble - it will reactivate automatically if you checked that box during reinstall process. Otherwise you can do it manually. See this tutorial for how it's done How to Activate Vista Normally and by Phone Activation SIW2 |
