| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Boot Advanced Options - Number of Processors Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but Shawn you seem like a very knowledgeable person so here goes. Came across this forum and your info about using the "Boot Advance Options" to decrease boot time couple months ago and it seemed to work (thank you ) although I did not preform the reboot time check. My questions is what would cause the number of selectable processors to decrease from 2 to 1 in the "Boot Advance Options", I had 2 processors selected, but when I recently check on my system configuration, it had changed to 1 processor and it no longer gives me the option to select 2 processors.Ran anti-virus software just as a precaution, it did not detect anything. Also am using Diskeeper 2008, Registry Mechanic, and Auslogics Registry Defrag. Was wondering if any of these programs would cause this change? Have: Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit, AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TL-58 2048MB DDR2 SDRAM, 200GB HDD Any info will be appreciated |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Boot Advanced Options - Number of Processors Hi Dabusta, I suppose it can happen from a number of things. A registry cleaning program deleted the wrong entries in the registry, a recent Windows Update, BIOS update, etc... I would try doing a System Restore using a restore point dated before the option was gone. This tutorial will show you how to if needed. System Restore - How to If that does not help, then you might also run a sfc /scannow command to see if it can find and fix any bad systems files that may be causing this. This tutorial will show you how to if needed. System Files - SFC Command Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Boot Advanced Options - Number of Processors LOL Lebon, ![]() It would depend on if you used the extra horsepower or not at startup. The extra CPUs can do more at once than a single CPU, so it gets done quicker. If you do not have much running at startup (Ex: Programs or drivers), then it may not make to much difference. ![]() Shawn |
