Re: New Context Menu - Restore Default Menu Items

Thank you very much for these reg keys!

I restored the textdocument option with your key to "New" context menu item. Worked great, though it should be emphazid that you need to completely "cold"reboot your machine..

Thanks again..

Re: New Context Menu - Restore Default Menu Items

Hello Mike, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Did you restart the computer after applying the reg file?

If you did, then you can do a System Restore using a restore point dated before it went missing to fix it.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: New Context Menu - Restore Default Menu Items

Mike,

See if the reg file in this ZIP folder will work for you. It includes more default registry entries for TXT files.

TXT.zip < Click to Download

If it does not help, then you might see if running a sfc /scannow can find and fix any bad system files that may be responsible.

"I tried your method and it did not work for me. I only show (Empty) when I right click to make a New Folder. This happen before and I had to restore to make it reappear. I have restored but perhaps not far enough back. HELP!"
