Re: Display Settings - Enable or Disable Changing

    Hi, Brink.
I have 2 files names nodispbackgroundpage and nodispscrsavpage in the field System of Policies. I think that's why my desktop background option and screen saver option disabled. I tried to delete them. But whenever I deleted them and log off then log in, they appeared again. I don't know why!
    Please kindly help me soon!
    Thank you so much!

Hello di_dong, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Delete them again in this area of the registry, but also check to see if they are at this location to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Explorer

If so, delete them from here to and restart the computer to apply.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Re: Display Settings - Enable or Disable Changing

Does this stop windows from changing my resolution when i connect my external monitor?
When I connect to my TV the resolution changes to a size where the settings box is off the screen and I am unable to click on anything to bring it back.
In my last laptop I had a setting I had made to have single or dual monitor but I have forgotten how I made it now as it was about 2004 I made it
I was able to right click the desktop and select either dual or laptop

Re: Display Settings - Enable or Disable Changing

    Hey Roger,

I'm afraid that it's only to hide or show the Display Settings window for users to make any changes. It won't prevent system (Windows) from automatically doing so.

You might also check the settings in your video driver software (Intel?) to see if it may have a setting for what you wanted.
