Hey, i have only one option when i got to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.
Just the default.
I Don't have the "NoDriveTypeAutorun" option.
What should i do?

Sry m8!
Just now tried method 1
that works fine!
But i have Four drives namely C,D,E,F.
Each of 40 gb.
But by method one,i was able to hide only D.
How to hide my other drives?
And Congrats on your 15000th post!
-Ashok

Re: Drive - Hide or Unhide

Hello Ashok, and welcome to Vista Forums.

I suppose that you could hide all of the hard drives to do so.

Thank you for the 15000th posts congratulations,
Shawn

Re: Drive - Hide or Unhide

Oh, sorry Jeyessh. I misunderstood what you wanted.

You can do this by using the manual option in Method Two. When you get to step 5C, dot Decimal and use 32 for the F drive in the Note under that step.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Drive - Hide or Unhide

Hello Techkidguru, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Sorry, not that I am aware of. You could change the permission level of the drives to not Allow other users access though.

1. Right click on the drive and click on Properties.
2. Click on the Security tab.
3. Click on the Edit button.
4. Select a User Name or user Group.
5. Check all of the Deny boxes.
WARNING: Do not include your user name or (Administrators) Group, or you will not have access.

6. Repeat step 4 & 5 for any other user name or group that you do not want to have access.
7. Click OK.

Re: Drive - Hide or Unhide

i tried this to remove my I drive (ready boost), restarted, made sure that i selected decimal and entered 256. restarted again. no go. I was wondering if i was doing it right, my dword value shows up as NoDrives REG_DWORD 0x00000100 (256)

Re: Drive - Hide or Unhide

Hello t0cableguy, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Since you have it set with ReadyBoost turned on for it, it may not let it be hidden. As a test, turn off ReadyBoost for the the I: drive and see if you can hide it then.
