Hi TheSkiz, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Are you able to manually close the extra gadgets on the sidebar by clicking on the X in the upper right corner of them, or by right clicking on the gadget and click on Close Gadge?

yes i can, but.. i can only do 3 then computer freezes up.. then have to start again.. i even tried removing the extra calanders thru the properties and clicked on veiw running gadgets.. and clicked remove on the duplicates.. again.. can do 3 then freeze up..

That does not sound good. I would recommend doing a Repair (upgrade) install to hopefully fix the problem for you.

After some research I found the solution to the broken Calendar and Stocks gadgets (this was after doing several other regsvr32 steps to reregister .dll's as directed from this forum). regsvr32 vbscript

Wanted to say a very big thanks, had raised a query on another forum, and even a system restore without any success- your solution worked!!!!

had the same problem- raised a query in another forum but no luck, even tried a system restore.

i have seen things like this all over vista
installing adobe products the eula page showed up as html too

Have you tried a system restore using a restore point dated before this started to see if it may be able to fix this?
