How to Create a Vista Internet Explorer 8 InPrivate Browsing Shortcut

Information
This will allow you to download and create a Internet Explorer 8 (InPrivate Browsing) shortcut for either the 32 bit or 64 bit Vista.
NOTE
Sometimes you don't want to leave any trace of specific web browsing activity. When enabled, InPrivate Browsing in Internet Explorer 8 helps prevent your browsing history, temporary Internet files, form data, cookies, and usernames and passwords from being retained by Internet Explorer 8, leaving no evidence of your browsing or search history after you close Internet Explorer 8.
Tip
For more information about Internet Explorer 8 and how to download it, see: Windows Internet Explorer 8: Home page

To see if you have the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Vista:
  • Open the Start Menu
  • Right click on the Computer button and click on Properties
  • You will see you version to the right of System type

Here's How:
1. For a 32-bit Vista -
A) Click on the download button below to download the
32-bit_Vista_32-bit_IE_(InPrivate Browsing).zip file.

B) Go to step 4.
2. For a 64-bit Vista -
A) To use the 32-bit IE8, click on the download button below to download the
64-bit_Vista_32-bit_IE_(InPrivate Browsing).zip file.

B) To use the 64-bit IE8, click on the download button below to download the
64-bit_Vista_64bit_IE_(InPrivate Browsing).zip file.

4. Click on Save and save the .zip file to the Desktop.

5. Right click on the .zip file (on desktop) and click on Open.

6. If prompted, click on Allow in the UAC prompt.

7. Select and extract the IE (InPrivate Browsing) shortcut to the desktop.

8. Right click on the IE (InPrivate Browsing) shortcut and click on Properties, General tab, and the Unblock button. (See screenshot below)
NOTE: If the Unblock button is not there, then the shortcut is already unblocked. Continue on to step 8.

9. You can now move the IE (InPrivate Browsing) shortcut to any location that you want for easy use.

10. You can now delete the downloaded .zip file (on desktop) if you would like to.
That's it,
Shawn
